Our Youth Future Olympians Summer Camps are great for beginner, intermediate, and competitive students alike in the 7-12-year-old age range. We keep an 8 to 1 instructor ratio and students will be split into Y8, Y10, and Y12+ age groups. Each group will be headed by a dedicated head coach – Coach Liza, and Fikrat (see Our Coaches Tab for more info).
During the 2019-20 School year (pre-COVID), Nazlymov Fencing introduced 435 elementary school children to the sport through after-school programs and summer camps at Sidwell Friends, GDS, Beauvoir/NCS, WIS, and Norwood. Our competitive high school athletes are consistently ranked at the top nationally and are recruited by top national universities. Our staff of Olympians and Champions has a great track record of providing students with a memorable and exciting summer experience.
Students will learn the basics of fencing through our fun and structured system of youth development which includes building students’ confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork, coordination, balance, and hone their fine motor skills as they learn our winning fencing habits and moves.
The camps run Monday-Friday 9 am – 4 pm, with a lunch break from noon to 1 pm. They can be booked as half-day or full-day, half-day is recommended for Y8 children. Camps begin Monday, July 10th, and run for 7 weeks until August 25th.
